You are correct that the initial upload of 6.2 to Debian was in the
3.0.2+dfsg-4 time frame, but the latest upload 6.2+dfsg1-4 was on
2018-02-02 and that was successfully build with FPC 3.0.4+dfsg-14 (I
checked on amd64). We run the tests as part of the regular build, so no,
not due to FPC version.
