Generally, I always revert only patches that do not apply because they are
already in upstream.
I don't remember (yes it is age effects maybe) if I got this patch from upstream
or if I did it myself.
So please check if upstream has the same fix. but if the patch continues to
apply, it is likely not.

In any case, if you need help or can not test on ppc64, just let me know and
I'll try to help.
