Abou, thinking it sounds a bit like incompatible object files, that is,
maybe cprt0.o may be the one that needs -fPIC ?

I had similar problems on powerpc64le with tomboy-ng and while I logged
an error with

https://gitlab.com/freepascal.org/fpc/source/-/issues/39451 (sorry,
quite long and full of red herrings) not much has been fixed there.

I ended up patching my build script to not apply hardening on
powerpc64le, might be interesting to see if the same hack helps on mipsel ?

Personally, I very much doubt anyone is likely to use my app, tomboy-ng
on either powerpc64le or MIPS but I thought it nice to play with the PPC
case because I used to work with some big PPC based systems.

Anyway, in my tomboy-ng, top level, a file, buildit.bash, line 178, the
hack to exclude PPC from hardening, maybe try the same for MIPS ?

As a matter of opinion, I would not even consider turning off hardening
on a real server application on hardware like MIPS or PPC.
