I have a different view. lintian is supposed to help maintainers (they 
different from bug reports exposed to the outside world). If one has 
investigated a problem and it's not going to be fixed anytime soon, an 
override (with documentation) is the way to go in my opinion. I don't 
consider this hiding, particularly with documentation quite the contrary.
