Summary: Check when our modules out-date
Initial Comment:
(is out-date a verb? who cares)
It would be helpful to take the script from cvs that checks the debian and CPAN versions make it run for our packages only in a cronjob on alioth and if something becomes outdated, mail a report to pkg-perl-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org
(This should also test whether tracker notifications emails get sent to p-p-m@l.a.d.o :-))

Yes, seems pretty simple to do. In fact:
cd ~/cvs/pkg-perl/packages && uscan --report
Of course, we just have to create debian/watch for all of our modules and fix them in others - libperl6-form-perl's is not valid:
<pre>uscan warning: Can't determine protocol and site in
./libperl6-form-perl/debian/watch, skipping:
search.cpan.org PAN/authors/id/D/DC/DCONWAY/ Perl6-Form-(.*)\.tar\.gzdebian uupdate
</pre>
Currently we have two packages with debian/watch that are outdated, libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl and liblocale-subcountry-perl. I haven't played with cvs-buildpackage yet, but I will do this manually right away :)

Never thought of that.
Would it be possible to write a script that checks for all Packages with us as the maintainer, extracts the watch file, checks for newer version, and notifies pkg-perl-maintainers@lists.debian.org once a new version is detected?

I have tried to keep a debian/watch file for all the Perl modules I maintain, and run uscan regularly - Wouldn't this be enough?
Of course, there are some modules which are not in CPAN or cannot for whatever reason be covered by this method, but this can help with most.
