I tried to package libao-perl some time ago and it looked to me that the upstream package is messed up.

It contains a debian dir with lots of errors and doesn't build correctly. I guess the current version on CPAN is related to an older version of libao.

I reported some bugs 40 days ago. No reply, whatsoever.
