I've spoken with upstream and they said it won't be fixed, since
libmail-spf-query-perl is obsolete and will be superceded by another library.

Because my patch breaks existing usage of spfquery (e.g. -guess=true), I would
suggest against appliing it unless upstream is going to do the same.
