My point to him was the backporting was not necesary if you invoke
svn-buildpackage properly and let it do all the cleaning inside the
chroot.

I seem to recall someone saying in #debian-perl that arch any Perl
modules that did not have debhelper 6 compatibility would have problems
with perl 5.10. Otherwise I would not have made such an effort to check
the debhelper level on all the Perl modules I have uploaded in the last
few days.
If am wrong please tell me and I will go back and fix them.
