This is true, Changes has:
version 3.18_02: Wed May 27 10:02:24 EDT 2009
        - *new attribute Ssl, when true causes IO::Socket::SSL to be
          used instead of IO::Socket::INET.  This change allows
          Reconnectretry logic to work on SSL connections too.

Robert, thanks for reporting, I'm going to fix that.
