I think that yes, unless there is evidence that developer version is 
what is currently packaged.

Without looking at the code, I think PET uses a regex extracted from 
the watch file for searching the index, therefore it shall include 
development versions.


TBH, what bothers me more is that dh-make-perl has accumulated a great 
pile of changes and TODO since 0.55 and uploading 0.56 right now may 
spread havoc :)  OTOH, if people suffer from bugs I have introduced, 
they may consider helping to fix them :)
