I do wonder whether either I (perl uploader) or release team should
have announced this in advance. I looked to the 5.10 transition and
didn't find anything specific... however, I'll probably learn from this
and announce the transition next time round.

Okay, no problem -- we all have them. And apologies for not
communicating the transition in advance which I guess would have saved
the confusion.
