Confirmed, it FTBFS in unstable, but not in wheezy. Unstable recently
updated libemail-simple-perl:

Revision history for Perl extension Email::Simple.

2.102     2012-07-13
          recognize crlf correctly even if there is no body (thanks, Christian
          Walde)

But I have not yet investigated if this is the cause.
