Hm, the dpkg-divert code in .preinst/.postrm hasn't changed since
2.18-2 (August 2009).

And I can't reproduce it:

# apt-get --purge remove libmodule-corelist-perl
[..]
Removing libmodule-corelist-perl ...
Removing 'diversion of /usr/bin/corelist to /usr/bin/corelist.bundled by libmodule-corelist-perl'

The interesting question is how you managed to get into a situation
where the package is installed without getting the diversions (from
the .preinst)? - Or where one is missing and the other is "a different file"?

Anyone any ideas?
