I don't know.  You're probably not missing anything.  I was probably too 
hasty in applying the patch from the Apache::AuthCookie maintainer in an 
effort to get that working for Apache 2.4.

I'll ask upstream and (if neither upstream nor anyone else gets to it 
first) attempt to rework the Apache::AuthCookie tests to use IfVersion 
instead.  If that works (and again, if no one else gets to it first), 
I'll update Apache::AuthCookie and then remove this patch from mod_perl.
