Status of libcrypt-cracklib-perl?

Hello folks,

The Debian Perl team repository has a repository for
libcrypt-cracklib-perl for packaging that looks like it was never
completed.  It looks like just the results of dh-make-perl run on May
20th, 2013.

I need this module for a project.  Was there any problem with packaging?
If not, would anyone object to me taking over this packaging and finishing
and uploading it?

I looked for a WNPP bug for libcrypt-cracklib-perl in the hope that it
would have more status information, but couldn't find one.
