This Perl module provides a common base for building the so-called Alien
modules, i.e. Perl modules for detecting, building and using external
libraries usually written in compiled languages such as C or C++.

I intend to maintain this package within the Debian Perl group.  It is
needed as a dependency for the libalien-ffi-perl package (ITP #778547).
