This should be fixed in git already, as I encountered the same issue
a week ago:
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-perl/packages/pkg-perl-tools.git/commit/?id=9cb194697439ea309980f671afc8847f3d8b4a1d
To run the dpt scripts from git:
% tail -n 1 ~/.dpt.conf
DPT__SCRIPTS=/home/gregoa/src/git-pkg-perl/meta/packages/pkg-perl-tools/scripts
I guess it's time for an upload ...
Cheers,
gregor
