Package: libnet-google-code-perl
Version: 0.19-2
Severity: normal
User: debian-perl at lists.debian.org
Usertags: any-moose autopkgtest rm-candidate
Forwarded: https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=101529
This package uses Any::Moose, which is deprecated. Since
libany-moose-perl_0.27-1, a deprecation warning is issued on usage.
$ perl -we 'use Net::Google::Code'
Any::Moose is deprecated. Please use Moo instead at /usr/share/perl5/Net/Google/Code.pm line 3.
This makes the package fail its autopkgtest checks, see
http://ci.debian.net/packages/libn/libnet-google-code-perl/unstable/amd64/
The upstream ticket is almost two years old, with no comment from the
maintainer. No reverse dependencies in Debian, so I'm tagging this
as a possible candidate for removal.
There's a related thread around
https://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2016/11/msg00035.html
and it's not clear yet if the deprecation warning should be disabled
one way or another. The primary bug of using Any::Moose still remains
of course.
