So the error comes from ExtUtils::CBuilder::Base which is in
perl-modules-5.30 (and also in libextutils-cbuilder-perl but in a
different directory).

This would affect many more packages …


But FWIW I can't reproduce the problem (in an up2date sid chroot
which should match the quoted versions.) Not sure where this leaves
us …
