Package: libgtk3-webkit2-perl
Version: 0.06-6
There is now in CPAN an upstream for Gtk3-WebKitGtk3-WebKit2 containing
the patch that is currently in this package.
https://metacpan.org/dist/Gtk3-WebKit2
This is identical to the patch currently shipped in Debian as
1001_build-against-webkit2.patch except that is also includes the
helpful (for me) Gtk3::JavaScriptCore
Therefore it would be great to have this in Debian.
Using this upstream would also correct the strange situation where the
version number (0.06) and upstream pointer references the code from
https://metacpan.org/dist/Gtk3-WebKit that is patched over.
The same code, essentially, is at
https://metacpan.org/pod/Gtk3::WebKit2 with version 0.013
However, I would note that it has a number of confusing issues, like a
copy of GPLv3, that isn't referenced anywhere, no mention of Emmanuel
Rodriguez the author of 1001_build-against-webkit2.patch and confusing
copyright statements.
I don't dare to suggest how best to untangle that, but wanted to start
the discussion.
