Package: libalgorithm-diff-xs-perl
Version: 0.04-8+b4
Severity: serious
User: debian-qa at lists.debian.org
Usertags: fileconflict

Hi,

this is an unfortunate case of Multi-Arch craziness. At some point, the
package's content was multiarch-counpackable and therefore the multiarch
hinter suggested adding Multi-Arch: same. This was then turned into a
commit by the Debian janitor and duly included. Unfortunately, now the
file /usr/share/man/man3/Algorithm::Diff::XS.3pm.gz is different between
architectures and as a result unpacking can fail. I talk about unpacking
rather than installing here as coinstalling is prevented by the perl
dependency. Meanwhile the hinter has been changed to no longer suggest
the addition of M-A:same in situations where a dependency (such as perl)
will prevent coinstallation and therefore the hinter will not resuggest
the addition for future uploads even if that file happens to become
equal across architectures again. Please drop M-A:same and excuse the
problems endured with this part of automated tooling.

Helmut
