Dear Jonas,

As far as I understood you are busy with other things today and its
quite some time ago we met at CLT. It would really help if you couly
drop a short note about taking over *all* your packages into Debian Perl
Group (see below) since this would save me some extra work to file
single bugs following the Salvage procedure literally.

I'm interested in salvaging the package
libtemplate-plugin-utf8decode-perl, in accordance with the Package
Salvaging procedure outlined in the Developers Reference[1]. This
package meets the criteria for this process, and I would love to assist
in preserving and maintaining it. As the Salvage process suggests, here
is a list of the criteria that apply, in my opinion:

  - NMUs
  - Bugs filed against the package do not have answers from the
    maintainer.
  - There are QA issues with the package.

I believe the package would be a great addition to the Perl Group, and I
took the liberty to create the Salsa repository here[2]. If you choose
not to accept the ITS, I'd be more than happy to help you move it to
another location, such as debian/, or wherever you prefer. My goal is to
make it as easy as possible for you to join the team. I'd also be
delighted to assist in adding you as a team member if you could share
your Salsa login.

I also would love to migrate all other packages maintained by you into
Debian Perl Group which are:

udd=> select distinct source, maintainer, vcs_url from sources where release = 'sid' and maintainer ilike '%Genannt%' and source like 'lib%perl%';
               source | maintainer | vcs_url
------------------------------------+--------------------------------------------+---------
 libalgorithm-dependency-perl | Jonas Genannt <jonas.genannt at capi2name.de> |
 libdatetime-format-duration-perl | Jonas Genannt <jonas.genannt at capi2name.de> |
 libdbd-ldap-perl | Jonas Genannt <jonas.genannt at capi2name.de> |
 libpasswd-unix-perl | Jonas Genannt <jonas.genannt at capi2name.de> |
 libtemplate-plugin-utf8decode-perl | Jonas Genannt <jonas.genannt at capi2name.de> |
(5 Zeilen)

Please let me know if it is OK for you if I proceed with these without
filing an extra ITS bug and follow the waiting time scheme.

This package was highlighted in the Bug of the Day[3] initiative, which
aims to introduce newcomers to manageable tasks and guide them through
the workflow to solve them. The focus of this initiative is on migrating
packages to Salsa, as it's a great way to help newcomers become familiar
with a consistent Git-based workflow.

Kind regards
    Andreas.
