Hi,
The following vulnerability was published for libcrypt-passwdmd5-perl.
The CVE primarlly I guess will server for documentation. No patch
exist to make it securely generating random values for the salts and
to move away from rand().
CVE-2026-6659[0]:
| Crypt::PasswdMD5 versions through 1.42 for Perl generates insecure
| random values for salts. The built-in rand function is predictable,
| and unsuitable for cryptography.
If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry.
