A tiny series of patches is on its way, I didn't apply any of them since
I don't know how you'll decide to handle your branches. Please note that
the long descriptions aren't supposed to end short ones, but are
supposed to stand by themselves.

You might want to put the additional files to “rm -rf” to the dh_clean
call, which will do the removal for you.

Another question: you have a versioned library (libopenjpeg2) but an
unversioned debug package. That means one cannot install a debug package
for e.g. libopenjpeg2 and libopenjpeg3. Did you choose to do so?

Another remark: you might want to bug upstream so that they ship a
pkgconfig file.
