Marcus, could you please have a look at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=514911
and the respective upstream bug at
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186638
There it is stated that the bug probably lies in libgphoto.
I have the problem described there also with 450D.
