Hello,

Andreas Metzler suggested [0] that you can be contacted here and I would
like to touch base with you, the Debian Hugin team.

I am active within the Hugin project. Since I got us accepted into
Google's Summer of Code we have an increased pace of development and I
am currently overhauling our release process. I am also active within
the Enblend project, also currently going through major changes - in
code and in the organization. And to a lesser extent I am also active in
the Panotools project.

My goal for these three projects is to put them on a continuity path.

The Hugin project releases source code only and we rely on distributors
like Debian to bring the functionality to their user communities.

A Ubuntu contributor recently made me aware of [1] - is this the
repository on which you guys work?

I would like to get to know you; to know the status quo of Hugin and
related tool in your distribution and your plans for the future.

If you guys agree, I'd like to develop mutual understanding and a list
of things that we can do for you and you can do for us, so that together
we can bring the best possible Hugin experience to Debian and (by
extension) to Ubuntu users. I am myself using Ubuntu most of the time
(and although I am a code monkey, I happen to build from source most of
the graphics tools I use because I find that the official packages lag
too much behind the current releases).

Looking forward to develop a good and productive working relationship.

Yuv
