Hi. This isn't a big deal for me, but I've got one of these. Is
there anything I can do to help you to support it? Sorry if this's
the wrong place to start ("aptitude show libgphoto2-2" on lenny).

The kernel has no trouble detecting it correctly:

   --------------
Jul 5 15:42:32 infidel kernel: [191923.128769] usb 1-1.4.4: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6
Jul 5 15:42:32 infidel kernel: [191923.238373] usb 1-1.4.4: New USB device found, idVendor=03e8, idProduct=2186
Jul 5 15:42:32 infidel kernel: [191923.238389] usb 1-1.4.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
Jul 5 15:42:32 infidel kernel: [191923.238401] usb 1-1.4.4: Product: Concord Eye-Q 1000 Camera
Jul 5 15:42:32 infidel kernel: [191923.238411] usb 1-1.4.4: Manufacturer:
Jul 5 15:42:32 infidel kernel: [191923.238783] usb 1-1.4.4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
...
Jul 5 15:51:08 infidel kernel: [192439.437213] usb 1-1.4.4: USB disconnect, address 6
   --------------

Guessing (tell me what you need to see please):

   dd if=/dev/$blah of=/tmp/$foo bs=?!?

This thing is listed (somewhat) on http://www.teaser.fr/~hfiguiere/linux/digicam.html
but isn't detected by libghoto* based apps that I've seen so far
(though other Concord Eye-Qs are).
