The problem is not with darktable per se, but rather with the libraries
that darktable depends on.  As long as you cannot install
liblensfun0:amd64 with apt (apt-get or aptitude), then there is nothing
the darktable packaging can do about it.  Similarly, libjs-prototype and
libjs-scriptaculous need "Multi-Arch: foreign" or "Multi-Arch: allowed"
declarations.

For your second question, you could file a bug on liblensfun0 (and on
the js libs you mention above). I'm not sure how likely this is to be
fixed in a stable updated, but I guess users of future versions might
thank you.
