Hello, all,

some time ago I reported on Hugin already, and also tried to forward the

issue upstream to the ubuntu-launchpad. But seemingly the complaint was not

really accepted there.

The problem was particularly an important one from my view: Hugin failed to

find control-points upon the Stretch-release, su I upgraded the packages to

the testing-version.

For some time I had a broken package, then recently I uninstalled and
installed it again, but still, the promise for the upcoming Buster release
seams to be, that Hugin is going to be 70 - 80 % worse in finding
image-control-ponts compared to the oldstable version of the Software, which
I have been using since my upgrade to Debian-Stretch to align the images and
finally stitch them:

https://pictorial.cc.irregulaire.info/

So it seems now, that one year after the Buster-release, when the current
testing-version of the software becomes stable, when the support for
oldstable runs out, the only fesible option for Debian users is going to be
to install an Ubuntu PPA of Hugin and the tools, or maybe to fetch the Hugin
version from Ubuntu 18.04, which might be workable on Debian, and which is
unlikely to be equally bad in finding image control-points.
I am not going to abandon Debian as a whole only because of the
panorama-pictures software, bcause I have some other interests too, which
will not make me like Ubuntu as my primary operating system.
