Sure: I’m fine keeping the same license as upstream for the packaging
when that’s possible, and do not intend to explicitly hold any copyright
for such trivial work.

Admittedly, this is not the most trivial packaging I’ve introduced in
the archive, but on the other hand, I’ve adopted other packages
introduced by other people, with a different license than the upstream
part for the packaging, and I find it pretty annoying to keep the
license and copyright imposed by the first person who did a job, even if
there is close to nothing left from their initial work in the debian/
directory (maybe this discussion could be worth having in a more public
place).

I don’t mind uploading an updated package from Git with the fixed
debian/copyright if you believe it’s necessary. Since the change is
already staged, it will anyway be fixed in the next upload if you
believe it’s enough, please let me know (eventually reject the initial
package if it’s not DFSG compliant, so I’ll upload a fixed package with
the same version).
