thanks for spotting this - i had checked all the headers but didn't
think about checking individual functions :S
i am updating the copyright file: in terms of copyright holders the
information is clear; in terms of license, the original code is
from two Perl libraries both distributed under the Perl license:
https://metacpan.org/module/Text::Glob#COPYRIGHT
https://metacpan.org/module/Number::Compare#COPYRIGHT

i assume it is safe to consider the PHP code 'original', between
translation from Perl to PHP and adaptations to the target context, at
least in terms of not having to be redistributed under either the GPL-1+
or the Artistic license (or to be put in the public domain) - i.e. i
assume it is ok to acknowledge the original work's copyright holder in
d/copyright, but state Expat as license for the whole file anyways?

grep -R -i -e '@copyright' Console-2.3.1/
doesn't show me similar situations for php-symfony-console.

thanks
andrea
