in terms of packages, these are the only two dependencies blocking
Composer itself.

using Composer as a dependency tool for other Debian PHP packages may be
a bit of a bigger challenge though: something was discussed on the
kolab-devel list a while ago, as originally mentioned by Mathieu here
(IIRC): http://lists.kolab.org/pipermail/devel/2014-February/014896.html
but i am still very unsure how this would be best handled.

in any case this is likely a non-issue for Composer's dependencies
themselves as its own dependencies are needed to bootstrap Composer
itself and can't depend on a working Composer to generate any autoloader
stubs etc. though in my initial tentative packages that meant patching
upstream Composer to make it look for its dependencies in a different
place from where it would normally expect to find them, and i got a bit
lost in gbp-pq at the time.

apologies for the long hiatus in my work on this, but i'm only now
getting back to sane-ish time and energy levels after some very intense
first few months of fatherhood...

best
andrea
