Dropping RC bugs means packages will make it back into testing, that’s not
very nice.

This one explicitly stated:

“I do not intend to follow up with an RM request, but rather close this
bug once Stretch is frozen or the package actually needed.”

In other word, “it’s only currently useless for Stretch, but is intended
to be needed in Debian soon, do not remove it” (already reassigned back).

There are many other packages, part of this messy reassign move, that also
have dependencies out of testing, where some people (including Thomas and
Raphael, CCed) already objected to the removal.

Ondřej, I imagine you’re simply willing to help, but doing mass
reassign without proper checking looks pretty wrong from where I stand.
Pretending it’s a request from the maintainer seems wrong too. Please,
double check the requests, or undo them quickly.

Regards

David
