Hi,
php-text-captcha is not compatible with PHP 8, thanks to its test suite
for making it obvious. It also shows that php-text-figlet is not
compatible with php8.0 (for it, the fix may be as easy as using brackets
instead of curly braces in a few places).
Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported in /usr/share/php/Text/Figlet.php on line 248
Even with a trivially patched php-text-figlet, the php-text-captcha does
FTBFS with php8.0, and needs more investigations. I can’t see any
activity in the upstream repository for about five years.
Regards
David
