Source: magpierss
Severity: serious

[ Reported by a team member to see the package removed from testing ]

Hi Marcelo,

It looks like libphp-magpierss isn’t used by anything in Debian
currently, that upstream is inactive for fifteen years, and that
alternatives exist (you’re also maintaining libphp-simplepie that seems
to be used by dokuwiki and is still maintained upstream, even if the
Debian package offers an eight years old version as pointed in #979332).

Because of the above, I don’t believe it’s useful to keep it around
(please download the severity with a rationale if you disagree).

If nobody disagrees, I intend to ask for removal of this package soon
(so if you read this message years from now, no need to ask for
permission to act on what I’ve failed to…).

Thank you Holger for triggering a closer look at this package!

Regards

David
