[pkg-php-pear] php8.6 is coming

Hi,

Thanks to Ondřej who uploaded php8.6 [1] a while ago, including
php-default [2] depending on it into experimental, we now have a view of
the packages that may prevent the php8.6 transition as per #1149581 [3].

1: https://qa.debian.org/excuses.php?experimental=1&package=php8.6
2: https://qa.debian.org/excuses.php?experimental=1&package=php-defaults
3: https://bugs.debian.org/1149581

It would be nice to start filing bugs against packaging failing to build
or with debci issues (with appropriate “blocked 1149581 by -1” Control:
entry), and probably even better, to fix those issues ASAP.

I’m starting to look at these issues, starting from the bottom of the
alphabetical list of packages from [2] (and waiting for [1] to provide
useful results). I don’t intend to look closely at packages that are not
currently part of testing (yet I’d welcome to get them either fixed or
out of unstable). Are there any volunteers for this effort? We could
start a pad or wiki page for coordination if so!

[ Explicit CC to Athos who was interested in the effort but may miss
some mails sent to this list IIRC the last BoF [4]. ]

I guess some MBF effort may be worth it, but please do discuss them here
first, and probably include Ondřej in the discussion before filing them,
in order to avoid unnecessary tension about unwanted efforts.

Cheers,

taffit

P.-S.: in the last few days, I also updated some team maintained
packages to the last upstream release when appropriate, updating the
packaging part in the hope to make the next upload smoother. We’re
probably close enough to the freeze so that it would be useful to
continue updating packages (or raise an RC-bug against them if they’re
not worth being shipped into Debian 14).

P.-P.-S.: James, I noticed you uploaded un updated Laravel stack, that’s
great! Enabling the testsuite, as documented in #976785, would indeed be
useful. Have you recently looked at the potentiel blockers about that?
