Hello *,

For 11 days I have upgraded my dedicated PostgreSQL server to Etch and
was realy surprised that 7.4 is there and nothing has realy changed.

Question:

What is the default PostgreSQL for Etch now?

Should I force an upgrade to 8.1?

I have a PostgreSQL Database of nearly 560 GByte and it is not realy
easy to pg_dump_all this pig and push it back into the 8.1 since the
pg_dump_all run OVER 30 hours and for this I need to increase the
UPS-Backup power for at least 3 days in case of performance problems.

Any suggestions?

Hardware:

Dual Opteron 256
8 GByte of Memory
ICP/Vortex Controller with Raid-5
 4 x 36 GByte (System, Raid-5 + HotSpare)
11 x 147 GBYte (Data, Raid-5 + 2 HotSpare)

The availlable Diskspace on the Data partition and arround 1.1 TByte.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day
