I guess some people would still construct a potential license problem
there.. But I actually left it like that so that people can easily do
local builds with readline without much fuss. If you prefer to add
--with-libedit-preferred, that's fine for me.

That looks perfectly reasonable, independently of whether or not we'll
eventually use --with-libedit-preferred. Please apply, thanks!
