[Pkg-privacy-maintainers] future of ricochet-im package in Debian

Hi,

I had a look at the ricochet-im package after a bug was filed some days ago[1].
I am not sure what causes this bug, but wonder if there is any point fixing it.

AFAIU the deprecation of onion v2 adresses after september 2021 will render
ricochet.im in its current state useless anyway, see the upstream bug report[2].
The project does not seem to be actively maintained for some while and I doubt
this will be adressed anytime soon, if ever.

There is a fork that seems to be actively developed, see their website[3] and
git repo[4].

kind regards,
Peymaneh
