I've seen the bug with Gnome. The jenkins tests use no desktop environment, 
just awesome as window manager. It would be interesting to install a base 
jessie system (no gnome, no kde), then install X and awesome and torbrowser-
launcher from jessie-backports. 

I'd hope that torbrowser would work in such a setting and stopped working once 
kde or gnome is installed.

I won't have time in the next days to test this, but if someone could, this 
would be… awesome! ;-)
