This has apparently already been done by Ximin:
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-privacy/packages/mat.git/tree/debian/control
I have based my work on this repo so I didn’t see a need to change it. Or isn’t that the right place?

BTW, apparently the repo (and some selected others) is also symlinked to collab-maint:

sascha-guest at moszumanska:/git/collab-maint$ ls -Al mat.git
lrwxrwxrwx 1 infinity0 scm_collab-maint 52 Aug 24 06:26 mat.git -> /srv/git.debian.org/git/pkg-privacy/packages/mat.git

Cheers,
Sascha
