Actually poppler is supposed to be an optional dependency, that's
documented to be needed only for PDF support. I've let upstream know
that the code doesn't work this way.

I'll give them some time to fix that via a new release, and failing
that I'll upload a package that has a hard dependency on
gir1.2-poppler-0.18, so that those who have Recommends installation
disabled don't get burnt.
