Another way I'm successfully using to satisfy this use case is:
AllowOutboundLocalhost + a local resolver that does whatever you need
+ pointing resolv.conf to it. That's exactly why
AllowOutboundLocalhost was added actually :)

So given there's a short-term solution and the long-term one shall
happen outside of torsocks, I'm closing this bug report.
