This was solved out-of-band: I now have commit access to the apparmor/
directory upstream. This should help a lot and avoid carrying too much
third-party delta in debian/patches (we'll keep maintaining
AppArmor-related patches there until a new upstream release is out
but at least they'll be upstream cherry-picks, not 3rd-party patches).
