On the basis of documentation:

one should expect a nice message 

500 Sorry, no server available to handle request on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

when the listen socket has been bound to a specific address/port pair.
In practice the server behavior differs and no message is issued in that
case. Limiting binding is instead regularly working if SocketBindTight is set
to on.

This could be interpreted as a defect in documentation.
