Debian Stretch version of proftpd-mod-mysql

I apologize if this isn't the appropriate way to make this request.  If not, please point me in the right direction.

Is there any chance of upgrading the stretch version of proftpd-mod-mysql to 1.3.6rc2?  According to Bug #4200 (http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4200), that version supports TLS encryption of the connection from ProFTPD to MySQL.  I have no idea if there are any downstream ramifications of doing this, but I thought I'd ask.
