I have tried these packages on 3 separate debian 10 installations and 
they seem to work nicely. I have not talked to any users that are still 
unable to connect.

I think this is an important package to get updated in stable, or via 
the volatile updates repo. The one that is in stable now only works on 
very few clients.  Hopefully the release managers agree.
