Bug#973664: BUG: proftpd-basic packaged with broken proftpd.conf, fresh install fails to start

Version: 1.3.7a-1

Clean install of Debian Testing, upgraded to Debian Unstable.
Installed proftpd-basic, tried connecting, got connection refused.

$ sudo service proftpd status

Commenting out the "IdentLookups" line allows proftpd to start and
connections to work. Please let me know if any further info is needed.
