I repeatedly encounter this problem.  When I log into GNOME, pulseaudio
often does not start as it should.  I generally have to try to start
pulseaudio several times from the shell in order to not get this error
message.  I am now using 2.6.26-rc8, so this may have an effect on the
bug.

Looking at the source code doesn't tell me anything interesting, except
that pa_source_post fails gracefully if s->thread_info.state is opened,
but not running.  That might be a better way to handle this problem.

I also see the message
   W: protocol-native.c: Failed to push data into queue
sometimes; I don't know if this is related.
