With ESD turned on, and "Play System Sounds" true, I get this bug after
a an hour or so. 

It means a complete loss of my Gnome session, and manually killing a
pulseaudio process from a virtual console. Apparently I am the only one
seeing it.  

If I turn off system sounds then I don't seem to strike it, but this
seems more by good luck: how can playing system sounds cause me so much
grief?
